Top 3 Shopify Themes For The Food Industry

I've rounded up three of my favorite Shopify themes for the food industry, all mobile responsive and each one serves a different objective and a different brand.

1. Vantage

Vantage is a comprehensive theme that ticks all the boxes an e-commerce site would need. It gives you elements that would be difficult to customize yourself if you aren't comfortable editing code. Features that stand out are the sticky add to cart checkout bars, product filtering and an accordion menu. 

An add to cart bar remains sticky at the bottom of the product page when scrolling down, allowing a customer to add to cart even when the add to cart button on the product itself is no longer within the screen. No need to scroll back to the top. Same thing for the checkout button in the cart page. This unique feature, while not everyone's cup of tea, brings customers closer to completing purchases. 2. Emerge

Emerge has a cool and contemporary feel to it without being too loud or brazen. It is easy to go bold with the look of the theme or scale it down as needed. The elements of each page enhance user experience with clean and clear brand and product information. Features to highlight are the restaurant menu aesthetic of the collection page with easy quick buy button, excellent product filtering and predictive product search.

On the collection page on Emerge you really get the feeling of sitting in a restaurant, browsing the menu, checking out the different cuisines and courses. The products are displayed in a column on mobile or 2 columns on desktop with the product image, product name, price and add to cart button. As many products can be added to cart without leaving the collection pages. Product filtering is thorough and products can be filtered through a side menu or drop down menu. Filtering is on a single level and allows sub menus or sub collections to be seen in just one click. Another +1 for user experience is the predictive search that suggest exact products before a customer has even finished typing their search. This gets your site's visitor to your products quicker even with misspellings and typos.

3. Flow

Flow has the versatility of Mobilia and the strong product filtering of Vantage. The product is the hero of this theme and the products shine with images. Being image heavy it works best for brands with strong product shots and videos. Favorite features are the mega menu, product filtering and the use of still and moving images.

The mega menu of Flow makes collections accessible to customers in just a click or two. A well organized product catalogue of collections and categories will benefit from the ease of navigation this theme has to offer. Promotions and an image can also be used in the drop down menu. Collection pages have a thorough product filtering options, customers can easily narrow down products on display without leaving the collection page. The seamless integration of videos is what sets Flow apart from the others. Videos can be used in the slideshow, on the home page and product pages, showcasing brand and product story telling. Flow really shines with good, professional images that make the home page and product gird striking.

For those with strong product, lifestyle and branding images, Flow will make them pop.
